Knives: A gift that keeps on giving
Knives of all kinds make a gift idea wonderful. If you need to give a wedding shower, birthday, Christmas, anniversary or a gift, a good knife will remind you every time the gift is used. And knives are gifts that are used frequently.

There is a superstition folklore associated with the delivery of a knife as a gift. If the knife is given to a friend, money must be exchanged as well. It is considered bad luck to give someone a knife without exchanging money or the friendship will be cut by the knife. Because of this superstition, it is common that the gift of a knife is given along with a penny five or ten cents in the box with the knife so that the recipient may return the coin, thereby saving the friendship of being cut by the delivery of acute leaf. Background of this superstition is unclear yet accurate, even today most people are a coin with the gift of a knife and get the coin will be returned. The apparent view is that it is better safe than sorry.
When choosing a knife for a gift that will be used frequently, select a tempered steel blade and a well-designed handle that is secured firmly to the stem of a knife. This will ensure a long lasting gift idea that will be enjoyed by many, many years.

I need help finding a sword shop in the Bay Area ...?
Me and my boyfriend 1 year (dating) anniversary is approaching and I want him to be a dagger, sword or knife (as hunting or pocket knife) is only in those things ... But the problem is that I have no idea what store in the area Bay I can find the in. .. If someone ... NOBODY ... can help me out here, that would be much appreciated ... thanks in advance.
Part of the answer involves more questions. What style of sword is looking for and you want to do something that is just pretty to hang on the wall, or want something with a bit of quality steel Decent? Even if your not likely to fight with it, many collectors do not like junk swords find in most stores. I'm with them on this, I prefer Decent quality gear. An easy place to look would in Chinatown, there will be a number of shops selling cheap replicas. I know you said that in addition science fiction, but I'm pulling that one out, for starters. My next suggestion would be to leave Northern California Renaissance Faire. Although I just checked and they are running later in the season than they used to. If you do not need to September is the link below. Some of the dealers do not have decent gear, much going to be garbage. And I am totally unable to find any shop in a quick google, so I'll give you a couple of links online. I've never asked these guys, but at least you have an idea of what's out there and price ranges. (The following links beyond the first, which was the faire s).
